Apparently some random 55 year old has won the lottery….twice.
The “Make Poverty History” wristbands that are so popular with the altruistic elite of the world *coff* are apparently being produced under “appalling conditions” in Chinese sweatshops.
Maybe that’s why they’re so cheap… I’m just sayin.
I found a place to live! It’s on Broadway just south of Crescent street in Astoria (for all you stalker-types, redheads especially)
Pics are forthcoming.
Creating a post on my favorite informational geekhydra site AskMetafilter about how best to meet my neighbors led me to meettheneighbors.org, a way to group together with your neighbors to improve whatever neighborhood you happen to live in.

Besides looking like it could break the connector on the bottom of the iPods with any force, I’m just wondering if theres any specific reason (besides the marketing juice) that the sources need to be iPods. This machine would be just as sweet (if not more so) if the user could carry two thumbdrives or firewire hard drives around and have the processing done by the machine rather than the iPod, perhaps with some custom software. Plus I certainly wouldn’t want to have to take a bathroom break during a set with two iPods just sitting there. [Via Engadget]
…wait, did I just say faucets are teh sex? I really must be looking forward to designing my new place.
So I’m looking for a new place to live.
Anyone know of any decent 1-bedrooms in Manhattan or Brooklyn Heights?
Or if you’d like to offer some advice on how to go about finding a place, please comment.
